Reviews of Casa Mare

My husband and I stayed at this villa "CASA MARE" for seven nights in the beginning of July for our honeymoon. The villa is quaint, clean, and comfortable. It is not a large villa but has everything you would need. They have a great pool, the sound can echo at times from the pool, which can ne annoying if you're trying to sleep or nap. Praiano is a very small town with just about 6-7 restaurant in its town and a few shops etc. You can walk from the villa down a large hill to town without a problem. Going up the hill is quite steep but the villa will pick you up at the bottom and drive you back if you need it. Make sure you go to Praia Beach, its Praiano's local beach. It's truly beautiful. Also, from Praia beach we paid for an excursion through La Boa company to take us to Capri and the blue grotto. It was 50 Euro a person (without the Grotto fee) and we skipped the line and went right into the grotto because we were on boat already. For a private boat, with just 10 people on it to take you on a tour around Capri for that price I thought was a good deal. Otherwise, you'd have to pay for a bus and ferry ride out of Positano and that wasn't much cheaper. After visiting both Amalfi and Positano (which are more touristy) I was pleased that we chose Praiano to stay. Amalfi and Positano have more tourists and are much busier with more things to do, however you don't get the "quaint Italian experience" as much as you would in Praiano. Hope this review helps!

Casa Mare is a wonderful retreat. The view and the balcony are amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the walks up into the mountains. The location was ideal for access to Amalfi and Positano. We highly recommend Vivaro Wine Bar in Vettica ( Praiano) Ristorante La Brace in Praiano for pizza Ristorante Costa Diva in Praiano for seafood Tony was very knowledgable and helpful about everything in the area; thanks

We had a wonderful time.Walking around the town of Praiano----loved the stairs and walkways!! Relaxing on the wonderful terrace in the warm sunshine!!! Took tour to Capri with La Sibilla...it was wonderful. Bus trip to Positano; water taxi home Beach swim and after-swim drinks---a must! Thank you, we have had a wonderful time. P.S. We brought a lot of our own supplies but Tutto per Tutti was great for daily supplies ( FRESH FIGS)

Driving the Amalfi coast was a harrowing experience and once Tony met us and we parked the car, there it remained. Tutto per Tutti will drive you back home with your groceries if you ask, for no extra charge. Keep your eye on closing hours. It is easy to get to the main shopping area from here; walk down to just past San Luca Church and there is a bus stop that takes to the beach at La Praia and the centre of town. There are very good maps at the information centre next to Bar del Sole across from San Gennaro Church. If you want to visit Sorrento or Pompei we suggest that you take the SITA bus from the main road early in the morning as it gets crowded later in the day. This is a beautiful place....no wonder Ulysses wasn\'t lured by the Sirens. We hope you enjoy your stay at Casa Mare as much as we did. God Bless you and Buon Voyage for the rest of your trip. P.S. The seafood was GREAT at Costa Diva!!!! Thank you Tony.

For 2 weeks Casa Mare was our home. We are lucky to have chosen Praiano with its quiet beauty and non-touristy entourage. We have fallen with the view from our terrace and will take it home in many, many pictures. A few hints for future inhabitants of Casa Mare......Food shopping---best place Tutto per Tutti. Restaurants----La Strada, La Brace, Hotel Marguerita We used the boat service at La Sibilla on the beach at La Praia and were more than satisfied with their service. We were disappointed with Capri..too many tourists and little to see.
