Information about the villa

Beauty is difficult to define and it leaves the beholder speechless and breathless. It may be for this reason that the guests at Villa Benedetta write few words in the guest book.

For many of them it is simply the ‘most beautiful house on the Amalfi Coast'. For others it is ‘ a piece of paradise' or simply ‘ paradise ‘ This is not difficult to understand and we proudly represent it as an authentic jewel of local architecture.

Constructed during the golden age of architecture on the Amalfi Coast, Villa Benedetta was for many years the retreat of two classic Italian ladies; two sisters , dedicated to art and culture, who gave birth to a family refuge perched far away from any confusion, every intrusion, every banality and vulgarity of the world.

It is harmoniously set into the rock, facing and overhanging the sea. Villa Benedetta is the ideal residence for whoever wants to rediscover the pleasures and the tastes of the good life.

Surrounded by nature with dream-like glimpses from every window, Villa Benedetta is the perfect house for staying together and sharing precious moments of intimacy with loved ones.

There are no neighbours to disturb, no noise from the world to upset the peaceful quiet of the breezes off the sea, the light of the sky and the perfume of the flowers.

There are many little angles ideal for eating, reading, napping, chatting, being together, hand-holding and getting back in touch. Terraces, sunning spots, little oases of centuries-old Mediterranean brush and a splendid barbecue area complete the exterior of this home that is completely enveloped in the panorama of one of the most fascinating corners of the Gulf of Salerno.

The interior of the home, with a fully- equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms , living room and 4 bedrooms is comfortable, elegant and rich in style details.

The furnishings are contemporary and the home has all modern comforts including internet service. The beach is directly under the villa and there you will find one of the most beautiful fishing villages on the Amalfi Coast with a little church, bars, wonderful restaurants all scattered here and there along romantic little lanes.

The SITA bus stop which connects to Amalfi and Sorrento and the ‘orange' bus which connects with the centre of Praiano and Positano is a mere 60 steps below the villa.

During the summer season there is boat service for Capri and Ischia and the possibility of private boat rental on the beach.

Reviews of Villa Benedetta

All of the preceding reports are absolutey right. Villa Benedetta is a magic place. We have really enjoyed every aspect--the weather, the people and the opportunity to visit Amalfi and Positano. Food: Armandino's restaurant on the beach provided us with a great meal on our arrival. Worth supporting! We really liked the butcher opposite the church in Vettica.. We enjoyed the water taxi ride to Positano. Huge thanks to Tony who introduced us to the house and helped us when we were in need. The only thing wrong with our holiday was...it was too short!!!

An amazing stay with a breathtaking view and wonderful home-cooked meals Good things to know.... Shop at Tutto per Tutti market in Praiano. Remember it is closed from 13:00 to 16:00. Visit Pansa Bakery in Amalfi .....great pastries. Swim at least once in the sea...just to say you did. Visit Pompei ... it is unreal. To enjoy your stay here, slow down and live like the locals do. Enjoy life....it is too short.

A lovely week--enjoying the amazing views! The villa is perfect. Even cold and rainy it is beautiful. As our week ends the weather is improving and we may even get a chance to take a dip in the sea. We had a great meal down on the beach at 'Armandino's'

We arrived late and had lost our contact number .Thanks to the driver who knew Tony we were able to get into the villa. Tony was a wonderful host. We even went to his home for some wine....our best night in Praiano. The villa was spectacular and a wonderful way to end our trip to Italy after Pisa , Florence, Venice, Rome ,Cinque Terre. Our trip to Capri was wonderful even in the rain. We are sad to leave but we hope to be back again at one of the villas that Tony represents. Thank you ,Tony for such great hospitality.

Perfect timing....not too hot ( 20°-25°). The pictures on the web site are a true representation. Fantastic villa for our group of 7. We rented a Zodiac to Capri and it was well worth the price(50€ each) for 8 hours. You can rent it on the beach below the villa. We took Tony's suggestion to have Mario and Rosa cater a meal in the villa. We had food for 2 days. Rosa's desserts were wonderful ( all for 100€ plus groceries). Highly recommend scooter rental . Groceries at 'Tutto per Tutti'.....and they will drive you home. we are leaving a bottle of wine, hoping we can start a tradition,as would have loved to open one as soon as we arrived.A special thanks to Tony for all that he did to help us.
