Beauty is difficult to define and it leaves the beholder speechless and breathless. It may be for this reason that the guests at Villa Benedetta write few words in the guest book.
For many of them it is simply the ‘most beautiful house on the Amalfi Coast'. For others it is ‘ a piece of paradise' or simply ‘ paradise ‘ This is not difficult to understand and we proudly represent it as an authentic jewel of local architecture.
Constructed during the golden age of architecture on the Amalfi Coast, Villa Benedetta was for many years the retreat of two classic Italian ladies; two sisters , dedicated to art and culture, who gave birth to a family refuge perched far away from any confusion, every intrusion, every banality and vulgarity of the world.
It is harmoniously set into the rock, facing and overhanging the sea. Villa Benedetta is the ideal residence for whoever wants to rediscover the pleasures and the tastes of the good life.
Surrounded by nature with dream-like glimpses from every window, Villa Benedetta is the perfect house for staying together and sharing precious moments of intimacy with loved ones.
There are no neighbours to disturb, no noise from the world to upset the peaceful quiet of the breezes off the sea, the light of the sky and the perfume of the flowers.
There are many little angles ideal for eating, reading, napping, chatting, being together, hand-holding and getting back in touch. Terraces, sunning spots, little oases of centuries-old Mediterranean brush and a splendid barbecue area complete the exterior of this home that is completely enveloped in the panorama of one of the most fascinating corners of the Gulf of Salerno.
The interior of the home, with a fully- equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms , living room and 4 bedrooms is comfortable, elegant and rich in style details.
The furnishings are contemporary and the home has all modern comforts including internet service. The beach is directly under the villa and there you will find one of the most beautiful fishing villages on the Amalfi Coast with a little church, bars, wonderful restaurants all scattered here and there along romantic little lanes.
The SITA bus stop which connects to Amalfi and Sorrento and the ‘orange' bus which connects with the centre of Praiano and Positano is a mere 60 steps below the villa.
During the summer season there is boat service for Capri and Ischia and the possibility of private boat rental on the beach.

Reviews of Villa Benedetta
This house is in a remarkable position on the coast. Many places along the coast lose the sun early in the day when the location is in a fjord or around a bend in the coastline, but this house is positioned for sun all day. It's a very easy walk to the main road and the little beach village of Marina di Praia is fantastic. It has everything you need except a grocery store. (Even so, the local grocery will deliver to you for free.) The sheets are a little scratchy. For the price of the place I do wish the owner would upgrade sheets, fix some broken floor tiles, and fix the sun loungers to make the stay more luxurious. Even so -- these are minor issues to contend with considering the remarkable view you will enjoy during your stay. Don't miss Bar Mare/Petit Reataurant Donna Clelia at the beach. It's the best. And don't fail to walk south on the main road until you reach Furore. It's the location of a big diving championship each year and you will see crazy jumpers leaping into this secret beach which is nestled in a tiny fjord. It's awesome. Best boat hire for half or full day trips is La Sabilla. Ask for Andrea as your boat driver. Ask to go to Li Galli to anchor and swim. A gorgeous and legendary place to hang out and swim. If you run out of wine and don't want to hike to the grocery (Tutto per Tutti) there is a little beach bodega at La Conchiglia where you can buy wine, coffee, water, cornetti, and ice cream. Last tip: don't waste too much time and life energy taking busses between towns. Splurge a little and just take water taxis to Amalfi and Positano. Easier, faster, scenic views, and just a chic way to arrive at either town.
Maria was great, very helpful in giving suggestions on what to do and restaurants. The place is absolutely beautiful and quiet. We loved that it was removed from the the business of the beach.
The house was awesome, views gorgeous, and although I was worried about the 50 stairs leading up to the house, they weren't bad (thank God there was a railing!!). The only problem with the stairs was carrying the luggage up and down but we only had to do that twice, so not really an issue...but be prepared for that. Maria was super nice and very helpful with information such as car service, restaurants, and was very fast and attentive to any/all questions that I emailed to her. The house was clean and well decorated....the tiles throughout are gorgeous! I wish we could have stayed longer and spent more time just hanging out and relaxing at the house (we were only there for two days for business!). But it was well worth the steps and the crazy drive along the Amalfi Coast to get there! Oh...fyi... if you are driving there...there is parking at the on a main road with a lot of traffic whizzing by, but it's a short (steep, but not bad) walk to a parking area, and the house is a close by the bus stop (best way to get around!), and Maria was nice enough to give us the names/numbers of some car companies with door to door service. But don't expect to drive a car there and park near the house...there is no room for that. And that's just an "fyi", not a complaint, cause if you are thinking about staying at the house - do it! It's totally worth it! (Hi Maria! Thanks for everything!)
Best town on the Amalfi Coast. One of the closest villas to the Marina Di Praia beach...easy walk with our three sons aged 6-14 years. Maria provided heaps of information leading up to our stay so it was all very easy. Airconditioning in every bedroom and the living space which was fabulous. Thank you Maria for our wonderful holiday. We hope to come back to Praiano in a few years time!
Wow! What a great location. We stayed here with our family - there were 8 of us. The villa was just the right size and the views are breath taking. Maria was a fantastic hostess. She was so helpful before we arrive with making reservations, etc. She even provided us with the name of a private Chef who came and cooked at the villa for us. It was the highlight of the trip! Thanks Maria. We will definitely be back.
